Permanent makeup at the Dermapure clinic

Eyebrows

  • Powder : a soft, contour-free effect for anyone who loves a natural look.
  • Ombre : a gradient from the most intense colour at the tails of the brows to a soft powder effect at the front. Defined along the lower contour, the brows stand out nicely from the eyelid area.

Lips

  • Full lips : the so-called “lipstick effect”, for those who like clearly defined lips.
  • Aquarelle: a contour-free, natural effect that fills in patchy areas of the vermilion (the red part of the lips).
  • IMPORTANT : permanent makeup is not a substitute for lip augmentation and contouring. The permanent makeup artist works only within the vermilion.

Eyes

  • Lash line eyeliner : the spaces between the lashes are filled in naturally, giving the most natural result without the feeling of wearing eyeliner all the time.
  • Shaded decorative eyeliner : by far our most popular eye pigmentation, with a result that resembles smokey eye makeup. The intensity is always discussed with the permanent makeup artist, from the most natural shading right at the lash line to a look like one created by a makeup artist.

How should you prepare for the treatment?

Before the treatment, do not drink coffee or energy drinks, and do not smoke. Your skin must not have a fresh tan, and the treatment area should not be damaged in any way, for example by a knock or a cut.
Before lip permanent makeup, it is a good idea to use a gentle exfoliating scrub 2 days before the treatment. If you are prone to cold sores (herpes), discuss antiviral prevention with a doctor before the treatment, as lip pigmentation can trigger a cold sore flare-up.
Before eyebrow permanent makeup, do not shape your brows. You should also stop using henna a month before the treatment, so that your natural hair colour can be assessed. The day before the treatment, exfoliate the area and then apply a gentle cream.

What side effects can occur after permanent makeup?

Visible swelling is possible and may last for up to a few hours after the treatment.
You may also feel some discomfort because the skin has been broken, and mild itching while it heals.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment causes little discomfort. If you go to a trusted, experienced permanent makeup artist, there is no need to worry. As with any treatment that uses a microneedle, you may of course feel slight discomfort.

What aftercare advice should you follow after the treatment?

They depend on the area of the face being pigmented, and the permanent makeup artist also carefully matches the skincare to your skin type.
Typical aftercare advice for every patient after the treatment is:
  • do not get the pigmented area wet for about 1 week after the treatment
  • avoid high temperatures and do not expose the treated area to the sun
  • do not use saunas or sunbeds
  • do not scratch, rub or pick off any small scabs that start to lift.

What are the contraindications to permanent makeup?

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, bacterial, viral and fungal infections, lowered immunity, fever, skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis, blood disorders such as haemophilia, cancer under treatment, advanced diabetes, hormonal problems not stabilised with medication, taking steroids or anticoagulants (blood thinners), a tendency to scarring, damaged skin at the pigmentation site, treatments with exfoliating acids within a month before pigmentation, active cold sores (herpes), iron deficiency, inflammation of the conjunctiva or eyes (for eyelid permanent makeup), hyaluronic acid injections less than 6 weeks before the treatment (for lip permanent makeup)
