Profhilo Structura Warsaw: when the face loses its contour

A more defined facial contour without a scalpel

With age, the face loses more than the firmness of the skin. It also loses fatty tissue, which gives the face its shape from beneath. The facial contour becomes less defined, and the features soften in a way that skincare alone cannot restore.

Profhilo Structura is a hyaluronic acid product that its manufacturer, the Italian company IBSA, presents as the first product designed to restore the fatty tissue of the face. We inject it into the subcutaneous tissue of the preauricular and zygomatic area, in front of the ear and around the cheekbone, which is where the loss of contour begins. The aim of the treatment is a clearer, better-defined facial contour that respects the natural features of the face. The result depends on facial structure and skin quality, which is why we tailor the plan to each person and discuss the expected outcome at the consultation.

Why the facial contour loses definition

The shape of the face depends largely on what lies beneath the skin. When the fatty tissue in the preauricular and zygomatic area loses volume, the skin loses its support: the face looks thinner and more tired, and the jawline looks less defined. This is why treatments that only improve skin quality do not restore the contour. Profhilo Structura works one layer deeper.

How Profhilo Structura works

One syringe contains 90 mg of hyaluronic acid in 2 ml, in two fractions combined by a patented thermal process, without chemical cross-linking agents. The gel has a high concentration and a relatively low density, so it spreads evenly through the fatty tissue and supports its restoration. In clinical studies, improvement was recorded as early as after the first treatment.

Profhilo or Profhilo Structura

Classic Profhilo improves the quality of the skin: its tone, hydration and elasticity. Profhilo Structura restores the tissue that supports the skin. The two treatments complement each other, so at the consultation we often plan them together. Structura also differs from a dermal filler, used for example in facial volume restoration: it works over a larger area rather than building volume at a single point.

Who the treatment is for

Profhilo Structura is for people who notice that their face is losing its shape: it becomes hollow in front of the ear and below the cheekbone, or the contour of the lower face becomes less defined. It is a good choice for patients who would like to refresh the contour of the face without changing its character.

Among other situations, we do not perform the treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with autoimmune diseases, with inflammation or a skin infection at the injection site, or with an allergy to any of the product’s ingredients. A comfortable treatment at Dermapure

We begin with a free, no-obligation consultation: we look at the face at rest and in motion and tailor the plan to its structure. We inject the product with a cannula through just a few injection points, after first applying numbing cream. The treatment takes about 60 minutes, and you can usually return to your daily activities straight away. After the treatment you receive an implant card with the name and batch number of the product.

After the treatment

Frequently asked questions about Profhilo Structura

Profhilo works in the skin, improving its tone and hydration. Profhilo Structura has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and reaches deeper, into the subcutaneous fatty tissue that supports the skin. Both treatments can be planned together if the face needs it.

One or two, 30 days apart. We agree on the number of treatments at the consultation. The manufacturer indicates that, if needed, the result can be maintained with treatments every 4 months.

In studies, improvement was recorded as early as after the first treatment and again 3 months after the end of the series. In the study with ultrasound measurements, the tissues were still thicker than before the treatment after 6 months, although less so than after 3 months. Longer follow-up has not yet been published.

There are only a few injection points, and the cannula has a blunt tip. We apply numbing cream before the treatment, so most patients feel only slight discomfort.
